Rites of Spring 2005 / rites01

This is the logo I've used for the last couple years to advertise the ride. It's worked OK- we've had passable weather in years past. Three years ago, we had everything possible. We've had extraordinary weather for the last couple months... extraordinarily strange. It's been very dry and warm- heck, three weeks ago I rode around all afternoon in shorts and a jersey- normally that's reserved for late May or June at the earliest. That, plus the fact that I spent all week giving our bikes a comprehensive cleaning, should have told me that the Weather Gods were feeling mischievous.
