Jen's Top 10 Songs

Runaway
(Del Shannon)

The major and minor chord changes totally make this song 'classic ear candy'. Del's singing makes you feel his emotion and think you know exactly how he feels. I don't know anyone who doesn't sing along when it is playing.
Achilles Last Stand
(Led Zeppelin)
The layers of music that most people wouldn't even think of playing. Total power with Bonham pushing it to full throttle. The end winding down back to the way it started. The song is over ten minutes long and yet I could hear it for another five!
Like a Hurricane
(Neil Young)
Make no mistake about it, from the moment you hear the first note, that's Neil! An excellent songwriter who can really rock. Just a great song I never get tired of.
Walk Don't Run
(The Ventures)
A great instrumental! I could listen to songs from the Ventures all day long. This is just one of many tracks that I really enjoy.
Ecstacy
(Rusted Root)
One of those songs you have to crank up the volume on. Up tempo accoustic lead combined with latin (meets) tribal style percussions.
Out In The Cold
(Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers)
This song defines the word energy! Off of "Into the Great Wide Open" (their 8th studio album, not counting T.P.s solo effort 'Full Moon Fever'). It just shows how great this band really is to be able to continue to put out this caliber of material over such a long period of time.
One Last Kiss
(The J. Geils Band)
My all time favorie Geils song!! Peter Wolf sings a great melody combined with a hooking guitar riff by J.Geils. I never get tired of hearing it.
Run Through The Jungle
(Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Swamp music at it's best. Great intro, kind of a gritty and erie feel to it. I don't know anyone besides John Fogerty who can make a killer song built around one chord!!
My Back Pages
(The Byrds)
Written by Bob Dylan. Reborn and saved by the Byrds. 'Jim' (soon to be Roger) McGuinn's vocals and Rickenbacker 12 string totally make this track a classic.
Twisting The Night Away
(Sam Cooke)
Sam Cooke had one of the smoothest voices that could suck you into any of his songs. This cut is simple, but catchy.
