Mass on the Grass
Tuesday night we brought the rock to Cambridge and had Mass in Music on the lawn behind the Charles Hotel next to Memorial Drive. Susan brought her ghetto blaster, we rolled out the blanket, and heard such fine tunes as:

"Still in Love Song" - The Stills (Jerad), which was followed by a discussion of how young/old you have to be to be considered "Gen X." The Wikipedia definition doesn't seem to resolve this at all.

"12XU" - Wire (Jerad), pronounced "One-Two-Ex-You"

"Three Girl Rhumba" - Wire (again Jerad), we played an extra Wire song because Sergio wanted to hear just how much Elastica had ripped off this song for their hit "Connection." The answer is incredibly much.

Mark Eitzel radio show on WFMU (Ken), we heard some witty banter, a live song, and someone cracking wise at Mark which will inevitably ruin the rest of the show.

"Creature in the Classroom" - Passage (Brian), so sub-human, man.

"The Suits are Picking Up the Bill" - Squirrel Nut Zippers (Susan), somehow we didn't end up swing dancing all over the lawn.

"Sunshine and Love" - Happy Mondays (Sergio), again, no dancing, although Sergio admitted to choosing this song because it's the one he dance the most to whilst waiting for Ken to pick him up.

"Suffer Little Children" - The Smiths (Sergio), more Wikipedia definitions so that us Yankees can fulfully understand what Morrisey is talking about. This was the only one of the 20 or so Smiths/Morrisey CDs that Sergio brought that we played. Ken was pretty pissed off about not getting to hear "This Charming Man." I know that there should be some clever way that I can work "Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before" into the post.

"Slow Hands" - Interpol (Jerad), I had to get this one last one played. It's their new single, and it's damn catchy. I've recently become a sucker for the Four on the Floor.
