T.Bone's Bio Page

About thirty years ago T.Bone didn't think his music career would be quiet like this. With guitar in hand he started his journey. Yes I said guitar, a six string slinger. What a sight that was, six strings slung down extremely low, in leather and long hair hanging in his face ,like a wildman. Little did he know his music life would change, with a change from six to four strings. After doing the HEAVY MENTAL thing for a while, Bone discovered his real passion was not in the music he was playing. So he took a break from the music scene for a while, to get in touch with what he really wanted to do. At that point in Bones life turmoil was an everyday event. So Bone went to see an old friend he had known for years. In fact Bone had taught his friend how to play three chords. WOW was Bone amazed how well he could play the guitar now. After talking music for a while, they talked about getting a band together. He knew a drummer. So they started to jam. So what better place to start off jamming then with the BLUES, if you consider,,, JIMI, CLAPTON, AC/DC, ZEPPELIN, the BLUES. At that point Bones life would never be the same. Bone felt the PASSION , IT WAS THE BLUES NIPPING AT HIS SOUL, CALLING HIM TO COME OUT AND PLAY. But it didn't last long. The yearning for change was overwhelming. At that point life started happening and Bones music wasn't. So it was time to move on to a new town a new job a different life. Music was put on the back burner, until Bones brother in law had a few friends that wanted to jam. So Bone was destined to play music after all. So they started a open mic jam at a local bar in downtown Olympia, so local jammers can have someone to play with. Some nights were good some were less than stellar, but it sharpened Bone skill to a razor sharp edge to prepare Bone for what was about to happen to him. There was a guy at Bones new work that had a band and wanted Bone to come over and show his bass player a couple of basic bass lines. And that opened the door for Bones next big adventure, SMOKING SECTION. (Park Olsen, Rob Stewart, Ken Schumann, and Doug Mah) This was a band that played vintage blues such as, ROBERT JOHNSON, HOWLIN WOLFE, MUDDY WATERS,,, and so on. This five piece band was "ON FIRE". Was also my first introduction to a artist named Duffy Bishop. Which we had the privilege to open up for in some pretty good gigs, Jazz Alley, Backstage in Ballard where Bone hails from), Crocodile Cafe, and you can't forget Maddogs. Wow what a ride. This band also had a drummer named Doug Mah which Bone would play music with on a few different occasions. But as for bands like marriages, most come to an end.

So the backbone of the band picked up some new players and started out on a new adventure, and called themselves BLIND MERCY. Where Bone was introduced to a Texas shouter by the name of Tuck Wilson and a wonderful guitar by the name of Ian Wientraub. This band had chemistry, the first jam they had lasted about three hours non-stop. To bad the band didn't last much longer than that. With a few radio spots and TV. appearances they drifted out of sight and called it quits. At that time Bone decided to take some time off from music. After that a guitar player from a local band called up Bone and wanted him to come and play bass for a little band called THE BLUES TORPEDOES, with reluctance Bone declined, stating that he had decided to take the summer off from music. So on the first day of fall Bone got a call from the same guitar player, with the same question. And the answer this time was yes. So the first order of business was to go into the studio with a few song and some ideas. What an experience that was. So after a few good gigs like The Bite of Seattle, The Taste of Tacoma, and misc festivals, and being an opening act for some cool people like, Doyall Bromhall, Curtis Selgato, Miss Levelle White, Maria Mouldour, and Too Slim And The Taildraggers, the Torpedoes decided to go back into the studio for disc two. With a sharper idea of what they wanted to accomplish and the drive to do it so on they went. Hiring some local talent from the first album they used Steve Munger and long time Seattle keyboard player Ed Vance. The Torps played the blues like crazy, real slick. As with every blues story tragedy strikes and the band is forced into to reconsider what is important in there lives. With a good ten year run Bone had with The Torpedoes it was time to put it down. And focus on the band at hand TBA. With Perry Sanders and Smoke from the local band The Steamers, and JB from The Blues Torpedoes. This little four piece band took off like a bat out of hell. So what do they decide to do? yep that's right, start a BLUES JAM. With about ten song a wish and a prayer off they went, scaring the face of the music scene in their hometown. When Perry had to bow out JB moved up front to fill the spot. But they survived and kept on being the band your mother warned you about. Moving the jam from place to place. Playing music from the heart is what BLUES ATTITUDE does best. SO IF YOU ARE EVER OUT LATE AT NIGHT AND THE HELLHOUNDS ARE BITING AT YOUR TAIL AND YOU HEAR A STRANGE SOUND COMING FROM YOUR LOCAL BAR DON'T BE AFRAID ITS ONLY BLUES ATTITUDE
