After installing Silhouette Ballistics, you
will get a pop up window
showing an error code 0x8002801c about the Msflxgrd.ocx not registered
when you to run
the Exterior Ballistic Program. There are four Microsoft support
programs
included with Silhouette Ballistics that Vista wants registered to your
computer. You may use the following procedure to register the
supporting files. However, you must do this as the
"Administrator" on your
computer with the User Account Control turned off.
After
logging onto your computer as the Administrator, cliclk the Windows
Logo button in the lower left corner of the screen (Old Start Button)
and click - Control Panel - in the pop-up menu. If the following
default screen appears, click the Classic View and change the control
panel to Classic View to show all the control panel options.
The
Classic View control panel options screen is below. Find the User
Account Icon and select User Accounts by double clicking on the Icon.
The
User Account Screen is where you may make changes to the computer
settings. Select the "Turn User Account Control on or off" option
on the User Account screen by double clicking on it.
The
"Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure"
screen should be showing as shown below. Uncheck the box for "Use
User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Press
the OK button and re-boot your computer when asked.
Procedure
to register the four Microsoft Support Files:
1.
Click the Windows Logo Button,
(lower left corner) then click Run from the main pop-up window.
Pop-up below shows the Run Command is in the Accissories Folder.
2. Using the BROWSE button, go to the C:\ drive. Find the C:\308VB6 folder and open it. Next, find the msflxgrd.ocx file. Use the show all files in the files of type window.
3. Highlight the msflxgrd.ocx file by clicking on it and then click the [OPEN] button.

look like the one below:
"regsvr32
C:\308VB6\msflxgrd.ocx"
Click on the Okay Button
6. Now you must repeat the above procedure and register the remaining three .OCX files:
a. Comdig32.ocx
b. Mschrt20.ocx
c. Mscomctl.ocx
That completes the program loading and all the programs in Silhouette Ballistics will now run. I am sorry about the extra loading steps now required by Microsoft. You may go back and turn the User Account Control back on.
You will most likely find that the program help functions will not function. You should get pop up window with directions to download the help engine that runs older style help files with vista.
