One of
my favorite cookies to make during the holidays, these are cinnamon sugar
cookies. They call for margarine, which
I normally wouldn’t use. However for this recipe, they really do come out
better with margarine than with butter. By Marge Harland in The World’s Fare
cookbook published by the
Ingredients
1 cup
margarine
2 cups
granulated sugar
¼ tsp
baking soda
2 cups
sifted flour
1 tsp
cinnamon
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees.
Cream
margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Work in dry ingredients. Roll out on slightly floured board to about ¼
inch thick and cut in to small rounds (or whatever shape you want). Bake on a cookie sheet until light brown, 7 to
10 minutes. While still hot, roll in a
mixture of ½ cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Yield:
About 4 dozen kisses (if you do 1-1/4” rounds)
