This site displays the live output from a remote webcam

that uploads its images to the internet. The software that drives the camera

is scheduled to be active each day of this exhibition.

This software is configured to respond to changes in motion that are detected by comparing

each new image to one previously saved. When there is a significant

difference, the image is uploaded to the site. The web site refreshes itself every 15 seconds,

displaying any updated images.

The camera looks through both interior and exterior spaces,

dividing the composition into several planes. These planes are altered

by the interplay of technological and natural elements including

motion, wind, natural light, diffusion, synchronicity,

digital manipulation, and optical magnification.

The piece itself is essentially intended to be a time-based electronic painting,

changing and updating itself in response to various forces.
