The Society held its first annual Christmas Party on December 1st, 2007.

The IMPD Emerald Society held its first annual picnic on June 30, 2007 at Southeastway Park. The “pitch-in” picnic was considered a huge success with over fifty people in attendance. Special thanks to the Picnic Committee Chairperson, Kevin Joyce. The day started early with members showing up at 7:00 am to sit with the tables. The last picnic-goers closed down the park at 9:00 pm. During the course of the day, members enjoyed a feast fit for a king, starting with fried chicken and wrapping up with one of the many desserts on hand. Members and their children enjoyed a full day of hiking, playgrounds, “corn -hole” games and a lot of camaraderie.
