The Pure Art Tarart Deck comes in this attractive modern package that can both open and close... repeatedly if necessary. Each box includes one complete deck with instructions written in tortured English.
The highly baffling Tarart was created in a flash of dreams and mystic visions by Madam Misty Green... but just when is not clear. While we make no claims of efficacy, Madam Green insists that users 'divine responsibly'. We couldn't agree more.
There are eight numerical cards and four face cards in each Tarart suit. The one card or 'ace' is that suit's Fundamental Card and though it has the lowest value, trumps all the others including the face cards. Unlike old style 'playing' cards, the Tarart Deck has the additional 'Jill' face card to balance symmetrically with the 'Jack'. There are four suits in the Tarart Deck: Heart, Mind, Body, and Self. The suits come in opposing pairs (Heart vs Self, Body vs Mind) that neutralize their opposites and in supplemental pairs , (Heart + Mind, Self + Body) that amplify their values. At one time there were plans for Wild Cards and maybe we'll get around to that some day.
THE LEGEND OF MADAM MYSTEY GREEN
Nothing is certain about Madam Misty Green, certainly not her age or place of birth. Some say she was born in Red Cloud NB in 1918 of hearty sod-busting pioneer stock, while others say she was the only child of an illicit affair between Woodrow Wilson and Anastasia Romanoff. A small group of apostates have claimed she simply walked in off the Plains of San Augustin into Pie Town NM on a cold November morning in 1948. Attempts to gather DNA that would prove or disprove any of the above have proved fruitless.
Lost records indicate that for several years in the late 1930's, she passed as a West Texas transvestite in Oplin TX where she befriended author Robert Howard who lived in nearby Cross Plains TX (over ten years before the Pie Town sighting!)
There are claims that she appears in frames 35- 45 in the Zapruder Film, though this has been vigorously disputed ( she was apparently in Texas at the time, possibly meeting Richard Nixon ). More credibly, some say she can be seen in the crowd at the infamous 1969 Altamont-Stones concert ( she's said to be standing slightly to the left and behind the pool cue).
From 1970 to the mid 1980's there is no record whatsoever. These are known as 'The Lost Years' to Green scholars.
Certain letters said to be written by her in the late 1980's indicate the Tarart System of Divination was created while she was living in an adobe mobile home outside of Olancha CA. Independent sightings of 'strange lights in the sky' around that time lend some credence to this evidence though there was never any proven connection to her sudden departure from Olancha and the crash of a an F-117, which was then a top secret aircraft. It was rumored that while Madam Green lived there, the French SPOT satellite could never photograph the adobe trailer from space. Modern satillite photos were all made after 1991.
