Text Box: Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Text Box: We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Text Box: Why send a family newsletter? Most people send greeting cards to friends and loved ones at the holidays. A newsletter is a more creative way of saying “Merry Christmas” or “Happy New Year” to those you’d like to keep in touch with, even when you don’t see them as often as you’d like.

Text Box: and it rescued him from his employment at Pace Analytical, an environmental testing firm, where he worked as a Sample Tech.  Jay took the job at Pace after his pervious job at DreamForge ended because the company went out of business on September 11, 2001.

For those of you who we haven’t been in touch with a quite a while, Sheila is currently working as the Senior Call Center Director at Direct Advantage Marketing in Pittsburgh.

Also May, we took a trip to Kentucky to see D.G. and Tiffany graduate from Seminary. It was a wonderful commencement and it was really great to see both of them and Jay’s parents.  DG and Tiffany found out they would be moving to Sante Fe, New Mexico for DG to become a Full-time Methodist Pastor.

The summer was pretty uneventful other than the occasional festivals and concerts.  We saw Miss Siagon at the Benendum Center and watched Weird Al and Evanescence with Sheila’s brother and his friends in concert.

In September, Jay’s Parents and Aunt Harryette visited and we had a marvelous time.  It’s always fun to see them.  Like usual, we ate like kings and had great conversations.  It was fun to be able to show Aunt Harryette to sites of Pittsburgh.  We can’t wait to be able to do it again.

Well, it’s Christmas time and we are looking forward a New Year with a few less road bumps.

We hope that your year has been all you hoped it would be and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Jay and Sheila Hollums

Text Box: 2003 was quite an eventful year.  As we come to a close, I find it difficult to categorize it under any particular emotion.

The year began officially on Jan 1st, 2003 but it didn’t really get going until Jan 14th when Sheila’s 4-month long battle with doctors came to an end with a definite diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis from a MS Specialist in Pittsburgh.  The next day, Jay tuned 33 and the day after that Sheila wrecked her car.  Talk about packing it all into one week.

In April, DG and Tiffany (Jay’s Brother and Sister) came to visit and we had great time.  We did the MS Walk for obvious reasons and it was a nice brisk April day.  We went to Ikea and watched DG look like a kid in a candy store.  Only the candy was a lot bigger and quite a bit heavier.  A few hours later and a coffee table heavier we were back on the road.

Jay completed his final class to receive is Methodist Lay Speaking Certification.  He is now certified to speak in any Methodist Church. This is something he really enjoys and is very good at.

Things slowed down a bit after that.  In May, Jay got a job with a Consulting firm in Greensburg
