My Political Beliefs
I would consider myself a moderate, with a liberal leaning.

I believe that corporations dominate control of the American political system.

I am pro-choice on just about every issue of a personal nature.

I am pro-sanity when it comes to gun control (for instance, I don't think handguns and automatic weapons serve any useful purpose other than to kill people, and therefore should only be in the hands of law-enforcement).

I think Bill Clinton was probably the smartest, most capable U.S. President in our history.

I cannot believe that George W. Bush was ever elected President of the United States. (oh, wait - he WASN'T)

My Religious Beliefs
I believe religion is a mechanism for some people to cope with life, and in that capacity is a wonderful thing.

I am a spiritual person, though I have been soured on organized religion. I feel that far too much intolerance, hypocrisy, hatred and bigotry hides behind the 'institutions' of religion as they exist today.

To me, it is no coincidence that all the enduring civil and social conflicts in the world are centered around religious differences.

I do fantasize about the notions of a 'god', of heaven and hell, of an afterlife and other possibilities of our existence on Earth. There are some very powerful concepts that conjure up imagery that compel me to believe in creationism, but at this point, I don't.

I must admit, however, I try to live my life in a manner that honor the values my folks have tried to instill, which are rooted in the Southern Baptist faith.

My Beliefs About People
I believe that most people are good at heart.

I believe every person is better than the worst thing they've ever done.

I believe that everyone has three 'lives':

A public life, that you reveal to anyone.
A personal life, that you reveal to only those closest to you.
A private life, that you reveal to no one.

I believe that business and friends should never mix.

I believe a true friend is:

one who walks in when others walk out.
one who knows all about you, and still likes you.
