High school, college, coach
Jeff Hoyle has received the Dartmouth Distinguished Educator Award, and the Emerson College Outstanding Teacher Award. His name has been included in such publications as Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who Among America's Teachers. He received the Tom Cahill Memorial Award for his 10 years of service to the Mass. Region III Science Fair, participates in the Rutgers Leadership Program in Discrete Mathematics, and serves on the Dartmouth Math Study Committee and the Dartmouth Technology Committee. He, along with seven other area teachers, authored the graduate level teacher training course at UMass-Dartmouth "Exploring Probability and Statistics With New Curricula". His reviews on math books, products and programs have appeared in numerous issues of the NCTM publication Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School. He was one of several Rutgers Leadership Program teachers quoted for the 1997 DIMACS textbook Discrete Mathematics in the Schools and was a featured speaker at the NCTM Regional Conferences in Springfield, Massachusetts in November, 2000.
He has been a coach with the Dartmouth High School Girls Basketball team since the 1989-90 season. In 1995 he received a citation from the Dartmouth Board of Selectmen for his work with the Massachusetts South Sectional Champion Dartmouth Girls Basketball program. He is a member of the National Educators Association, the Mass Teachers Association, Dartmouth Educators Association, the Mass Basketball Coaches Association, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Massachusetts.
