Sarcoma Research: Approximately 60% of funds raised by the Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation will be used in the area of sarcoma research at MGH. These funds will be used for drug trials, sarcoma conferences, or other research at MGH involving sarcoma.

Sarcoma Education Network: The Sarcoma Network will pair new sarcoma patients and families with a sarcoma survivor. Since sarcoma is such a rare disease, patients often feel isolated. This outreach program, using approximately 20% of the funds raised by this foundation, will provide approximately 120 patients and families with a valuable resource as they begin and continue their fight against sarcoma. Seminars and other resources will also be provided to sarcoma patients and their families.

Sarcoma Family Support: The Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation will also provide sarcoma patients and families with resources to stay with their family member as they undergo treatment. Since sarcoma is so rare, MGH sarcoma patients often travel great distances ( Maine,Vermont, New Hampshire , and upstate New York ) to be treated at MGH’s Center for Sarcoma Sarcoma and Connective Tissue Oncology. Jennifer was always surrounded by her family members as she fought this disease, so approximately 20% of the funds will allow other family members to support their family member as they battle sarcoma.
