Price: €1000,000 (roughly $1,300,000)"This canal house is really something. Built in 1611 (almost four hundred years ago!) and re-styled by Sander in 2002. The house covers 250 m2 divided into 6 rooms, 3 bathrooms, and an enormous kitchen where you can entertain all your friends with home made goodies. But more importantly than the abundant size, is the styling of the interior ... [From] what I have seen of his house, apple green and dark grey are Sander’s favourite colours. You will walk, eat and sleep in rooms that are a nicely balanced combination of light apple green and dark grey set off by a basis of stark white to enhance the contrast.Source: Poptical Music/inthemix

Luke Fair posted the following message on his website (lukefair.com) regarding his upcoming entry in the Balance series:"Hey all...finished my Balance CD last week. Stay tuned for the press release coming soon, with the tracklist and tour dates. I'll be back out on the road regularly starting next month...and tour regions for the CD release are as follows: April 18 - 28 in Australia, April 28 - May 13 in Asia, May 13 - June 17 North and South America and Europe for the following two months. I'll be sure to post the dates here as soon as I know them. Will upload some newer mixes within the next few days so check back. Hopefully see some of you in Miami for the Balance Release Party!!"This promises to be absolutely huge. Here's hoping he'll make a stop in Portland or Seattle.
Desyn Masiello sat down with inthemix and discussed his Good Vibrations tour in Australia along with his plans for 2007. Interesting quote: "I’m working with the expanding SOS collective – Demi and Omid currently – but more members on the horizon soon. We’ve just set up a new studio in London and the focus the next few years will be that. We are working on a number of mix CDs now too, they’ll be out in the next 6 months."An SOS compilation was originally scheduled to come out in '06, though that obviously didn't come to pass. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. Read the entire interview here.

I've never been a big fan of Steve Porter, but the tracklisting for his recently released Porterhouse 2is intriguing to say the least. The compilation features an astounding 57 tracks mixed over 2 CDs; a definite departure from the industries current blueprint for creating compilations. I applaud his novel approach, and am certainly intrigued by many of the tracks he's included, but I'm also skeptical. It's not hard to imagine this sounding like one huge 80 minute train wreck. Nevertheless, I'll be checking this out and have every intent on giving it an honest listen. Here's the (enormous) tracklist:Labels: News, Steve-Porter
"A component or constituent of a whole or one of the parts into which a whole may be resolved by analysis: Bricks and mortar are elements of every masonry wall."
With little fanfare, Phil K has just released his new compilation Hi-Fi. Here's the tracklist:
The next release due from Mashtronic records is huge. Greek prodigy Dousk has produced two superb tracks that are among the finest he's ever done. "Acrobatics", which was featured on John Digweed's Triple J Mix in October, is a dark, driving, progressive beast that will destroy any dance floor it's played on. "Biz 1982", which was featured on one of Digweed's Kiss 100 mixes back in October, is a more modern electro-prog number with an anthemic lead synth line and a relentless bassline. Following on from December's "Caribou", Dousk is on a role. 2007 promises to be a big year for him.
The tracklist for GU's forthcoming Taipei compilation has been released. Dubfire, one half of Deep Dish fame, is the man behind the decks this time.Labels: Deep-Dish, Global-Underground, News
The tracklist for the upcoming 9th volume of Renaissance Recording's flag ship has been released. Mixed by veteran Japanese DJ/producer, Satoshi Tomiie, the 2CD mix looks quite promising.CD1
Release date: March 12th, 2007

The tracklist for Shiloh's upcoming compilation on Baroque has been released:Elements 001 will be released on March 15th, 2007.

Electronic music legends Spooky sent the following news to subscribers of their site's newsletter:"Hi guys – just a short note to let you know that Gargantuan was re-issued today on CD and download – the current best deal we are aware of for the CD is on play.com. The downloads are available from iTunes from today. All the other download sites get it next week on the 11th December. This is obviously great news, and any fan of electronic music would be well advised to check out these rereleases if they haven't already heard them before. Especially with regard to their first album and its respective singles, Spooky were way ahead of their time. Their sound helped shape what we now call progressive house.
The Little Bullet EP is also available as a download from beatport.com and includes the 2 Underworld mixes of Schmoo as well as 3 mixes of Little Bullet. The 3 EPs Clank, Stereo and Shunt will be re-issued as downloads on 11th December. Found Sound will be re-issued now in January – download only. Hope you all have a great Christmas."

In commemoration, I've uploaded a recent 30 minute Spooky set that prefaced Sasha's Cacao Beach set from July this year. You can download the set here. Here's the tracklist:
Also, I've posted some old reviews of Spooky that I wrote a couple of years ago. You can view them by clicking the reviews button to the left. Enjoy!
The tracklisting for Dave Seaman's upcoming Therapy Sessions compilation with Lexicon Avenue. Click here to see it. Both tracklistings look rather promising with some great tunes included. Nice to see a couple of Shiloh productions included on Seaman's disc, as well as a new production from Stel. It'll be nice to hear something other than glitchy breaks from the guest mix as well. The compilation is due out September 25, 2006. Labels: Dave-Seaman, Lexicon-Avenue, News
Nick Warren has announced that he is compiling a new mix compilation for Global Underground. No details yet, though he has posted an e-mail address for artists to send their tracks to for consideration for inclusion. Although this will be Nick's 7th GU, he has a reputation for putting out quality mix CDs, especially in the last few years. Labels: Global-Underground, News, Way-Out-West
Shiloh has announced that their single, "Vice", will be the first release on their new imprint, Floppy Discs. The original mix was featured on Luke Chable's Addicted compilation and can also be heard on Shiloh's June 2006 Promo Mix. The flip will feature a massive remix by Luke Chable himself, and is already available to listen to on Chable's MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/lukechable). I loved the original, and the remix is quite good too. No release date has been confirmed as of yet. Labels: Floppy-Discs, Luke-Chable, News, Shiloh
Luke Chable and Danny Bonnici (of Nubreed) are set to team up on a single CD mix compilation for Hidden Form Recordings, aptly titled: Hidden Form. After Chable's excellent Addicted disc on Platipus, I'm definitely looking forward to this. We'll see what Bonnici adds to the mix. A track list and samples are available on the Hidden Form website at hiddenform.com. Labels: Luke-Chable, News, NuBreed

ohn "Quivver" Graham is set to release his second DJ mix compilation, Controlled Substance, on his own Boz Boz records on August 7th, 2006. Click here for the track list. Although his first compilation (Tranceport 5) was a perfect example of everything wrong with progressive house at the time, Graham has certainly changed his sound since the "dark ages" and looking over the tracklist, this is definitely something I'm looking forward to.
Sasha's new double mix CD, Instant Live was released immediately following his closing Fundacion residency show at Avalon in Los Angeles, CA this last Saturday. Fans in attendance were able to immediately purchase the album at the end of the night. Click here for a tracklist. I will be posting a review shortly as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.
Volume 3 of Dave Seaman's Therapy Sessions compilation series has been announced, this time featuring Lexicon Avenue as the guest DJ. Although I felt the last the Therapy Sessions release was a bit disappointing, I don't think Seaman will disappoint this time. Coming off strong reviews for his latest mix on Renaissance, I have a good feeling will deliver the goods. Lexicon Avenue is certainly an interesting choice for the guest CD, as they're certainly not relatively new faces to the industry (as Phil K and Luke Chable were back in the day). I wasn't too keen on the dirty, glitchy breaks of the last two guest mixes so hearing some Lexicon Avenue style deep house might be just what the doctor ordered. Although a release date hasn't announced yet, I'm anticipating a Q3 or Q4 release. Labels: Dave-Seamen, Lexicon-Avenue, News
Steve Lawler is set to release a new compilation on Ministry of Sound called Viva. The album will consist of 3 CDs, two clubs mixes and one downtempo mix ala the Back To Mine Series. Ministry of Sound appears to be attempting to claim some territory in the prog/house scene with the Sessions by Josh Wink and also a huge triple mix CD from super group SOS (Desyn Masiello, Demi and Omid 16B) later this Summer. Viva will be available on June 19th. Labels: News, Steve-Lawler
Sasha is teaming up with Instant Live productions to release a live double CD of his closing Fundacion residency party in LA on June 26th. The CDs will available to those who attend immediately after the show, and only 10,000 copies will be pressed. For more info, check out Sasha's website at http://www.djsasha.com/. A cool idea, and I imagine Sasha will be pulling out all the stops for those 2+ hours. These sets will certainly have a different feel compared to his last two mix compilations, which were more geared towards home listening (for obvious reasons). The latest mixes I've heard from Sasha were pretty good, so let's hope these will follow suit.
Three years in the making, after two years of delays (if you remember back far enough, the album was originally supposed to be released in 2004), Shiloh's debut album, "Bleed", has finally been released. Featuring two CDs of fantastic music, Shiloh fans will not be disappointed. Having listened to the album several times, I can honestly say that album does live up to the hype. I'll be posting a review in the coming days (as soon my hard copy arrives in the mail). Those interested in purchasing the album should head over to the Baroque Records website at http://www.baroquerecords.co.uk/. Digitally, it looks like the album will be released next week.
According to the Balance MySpace page, Jimmy Van M, most well known for his residency at New York's Twilo and his masterminding of the Delta Heavy tour will mix the 10th volume of the acclaimed mix series. This is fantastic news, though there are certainly high expectations for Van M who is no rookie to the scene. His Trance Nation America mix was fantastic, though his Bedrock compilation was pretty boring. I haven't given his recent Kiss 100 mixes a thorough listen, but he has a fantastic reputation in the industry. And considering how great the last few Balance releases have been, one can only imagine that this mix will follow suit. I applaud EQ Gray for their selection. Labels: Jimmy-Van-M, News
John Digweed's new mix CD was released last Monday. The release marks the launch of a new series for Digweed that will include bi-annual single CD releases from now on. Digweed also promotes the Transitions brand via a Podccast and a weekly radio show on Kiss 100. Read my review of the CD here.
