1st Annual Spring Backcountry Snow Camping Party!

Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14
Sunday is Mothers Day, so we will set up camp just 30 minutes from the road, and a hour from Seattle, so you can get back home before noon to make it home to celebrate with your family.

This is the event for those interested in an easy hike in and then a backcountry party.

Bring your gear to Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoe and just play in the snow. Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14 xContSkiDn.JPG (29K) xCountry.jpg (2K) The plan is to drive up to Snoqualmie Pass on I-90, and park at the Alpental Ski resort parking lot. From here the plan is to hike or ski less than one mile up to the base of the canyon. (in other words there is only a small elevation gain to base camp, less than 200 vertical feet).
From here we set up camp at the base of Chair Peak and all sorts of other great areas to climb, practice your skiing or boarding, or just party and enjoy the scenery.

There are many great reasons to camp at this time of the year;

1. Warm, sunny days.
2. Still some snow to ski, board and play in.
3. Snow to make Margaritas with, also keeps the beer and wine cold!
4. No bugs or mosquitoes.
5. Few, if any other campers to contend with.
6. Nice flat surface to put your tent on - better sleeping.
7. Dogs are welcome.
8. Fresh food keeps well- for the dinner feast.
9. and more....

Timing Arrive at Alpental parking lot around 1pm Saturday (this gives you lots of time to get other things done on Saturday morning).
Hike in from 2:00 to 2:30
Drop packs and set up camp 2:30 - 3:30
Play, explore, climb peaks, etc afternoon
Dinner and Party starts - 7pm
