DAY 1 8:30 AM MST February 2 2000 (happy groundhog day): Rinsed out the ocean of light with the hot water from the coffee machine (its just a spout off the side that dispenses Very hot water not boiling but hot so no one has to worry about sea monkeys showing up in the coffee pot or anything like that.) then filled with room temp water from the tap then put in the water purifier and stirred with a plastic knife that now sits next to the ocean of light box.![]()

Day 2 11:35 AM MST: Added Packet 2 (instant live sea monkey eggs) and stirred for 1 minute as directed. Noticed a lot of white powder colleted on the bottom of the aquarium and its slowly dissolving a few black dots from half the size of a period (.) to double the size. I can’t see any monkey or shrimp like appendages coming off of these periods but they are floating around upon closer looks I see more of the dots on the bottom (must be sleeping) don’t know if the camera will be able to pick up any of these dots but the picture is below anyways.
Day 2 3:17 PM MST: Yikes almost picked up the sea monkeys and drank them. As they now occupy the spot where my water used to sit. Luckily I didn't put them in my old taco bell cup.

Day 3 8:30 AM MST: We have Sea monkeys about 80% of all the lack spots have vanished and now tiny (much smaller then a period) white sea monkeys are swimming in the Ocean of light aquarium. These do not show up at all on the camera they are too small. I have removed the white background from behind the sea-monkey and now the background is my lovely phone. According to the instructions the sea monkeys are supposed to grow to ½ an inch so soon the web cam should be able to see something.

Day 3 12:45 PM MST: In my first present as a sea monkey father (adopted) I received a Cigar From Co-worker Scott Hendrickson. Very nice Macanudo as seen in the web cam. After this gift is thoroughly enjoyed the band will be taped to the Ocean of Light sea monkey for the sea monkeys to know that their lives are being watched by everyone. We wouldn’t want a Truman show to occur and have the sea-monkey’s break through their protective walls and enter the hostile real world.Day 5 11:32 AM MST: hurray the water has finally become clear of bubbles. So those specks you see on the web cam are actually sea monkeys and not bubbles as they were before. There have got to be easily about 60 – 70 sea monkeys in there now swimming around and having a great time. Added their first feeding (packet #3)and they seemed disinterested and kept swimming around. Strange thing about these little creatures is that they appear to be swimming on their backs using their legs to swim around.

Day 7 11:49 AM MST: Pretty uneventful couple of days for our little friends but they continue to grow and are now about 3x’s as big as they were on Day 5. Now they are more visible via the web site you can almost make out tails but you can defiantly see their bodies. They appear to be happy and totally oblivious to the workload covering my desk. Lucky little specks; but then again their life expectancy isn’t long so they should just have fun in their predator free environment.
