Jim's Amateur Radio Page

The picture above is used for my home made QSL card. It was taken about 6 months after I got my license( Licensed May 9th 2002). My cat "Bridget" insisted on being in the picture, she thinks she should be the control operator of this station. At this point in time I only send QSL cards back to people who QSL me direct (I make QSL cards up on the computer one at a time). QSLing is not important to me. If a QSO is in my logbook (paper not computerized log) that is confirmation enough for me. Maybe someday I will QSL all the contacts I make. I am studying for my extra ticket (Amateur Extra License), and I don't want to spend a lot of money getting QSL cards made up, and then getting a new call, and ending up with a bunch of QSL cards that I can't use.
Updated station picture with my new (August 4th 2003) Icom 756 ProII!
The picture also shows my four cw keys, all four keys being active on the Icom using "Y Type" connectors from Radio shack, one connector in the front, and one in the back of the rig. The paddle a (Schurr Profi II) is plugged into my Logikey K-3 Keyer. I use all of my keys, but if I had to pick only one key, it would be the Vibroplex bug That my brother gave me as a birthday present. I love using the bug!
Navy Key with custom made wood base (Honduran rosewood).
I made the exotic wood base, with the help of my friend Matt and his new router table. If you have any interest in purchasing custom made exotic wood items, please see my wood working page, and email me for an estimate.
Other pictures will be posted soon so please check back.
