Welcome to the:
Wood Working Page
(under construction)
Here are a couple pictures of our latest project. This will soon be our wood shop. I will post more pictures soon. Like this website it is still under construction. We are going to start building beautiful exotic wood humidors. This is a hobby that has the potential of becoming more than just a hobby!

Below are some hand picked pieces of exotic wood stock. The purple color of the wood on the far right is the natural color of the wood. It is not stained or died in any way. This wood is called purple heart wood, and it is absolutely stunning when finished! Soon There will be some pictures of our finished product.

We hope to have a virtual store in the near future, and will offer some of our exotic wood humidors for auction on ebay. We have seen a few exotic wood humidors offered for auction on ebay, but we haven't seen any humidors that can compare to the quality of the humidors that we will be producing. Our humidors will have thick walls, made from solid hand picked exotic woods, and lined with over a quarter inch of specially selected Spanish cedar. These Humidors will be designed by Mathew Huss who is truly an artist when it comes to working with all types of wood! We will offer top quality electronic humidifying equipment as a built in option in our humidors.
Here are a couple pictures of a Custom humidor in production
The sides, front, back, bottom, and top are cut out. The dove tails are routed, edges are rounded, and all pieces are pre-fitted. The sides, front, back and bottom are then joined, clamped, and glued. Then the entire humidor is sanded multiple times, with varying grades of sandpaper. The hinges will be fitted, necessary mortises will be made. The hinges will be installed, then removed for final finishing. The whole process will take several days for each handcrafted humidor.
After the humidor has been glued together the top is cut off, to form the lid of the humidor. Spanish Cedar is used to form a snug fitting seal between the lid and humidor. The interior is lined with special hand selected Spanish Cedar. The use of Spanish Cedar for the lining of a humidor is a very important feature. We use only Spanish Cedar to line our humidors. We believe other types of cedar may flavor your cigars in an undesirable way. Spanish cedar has the perfect characteristics for the humidification process, and it will actually enhance the flavor of finer tobaccos.
Below are a couple pictures of a completed humidor. This is a gorgeous humidor, finished with tongue oil. This humidor has a book matched Babinga top, and mahogany front back and sides. Dove tails were used to join the pieces, and ad to the beautiful hand made look. The hardware is very high quality gold plated brass.

The pictures below are of a humidor being constructed!
This one is a real beauty! It is quite large, and made with a combination of some of the nicest exotic woods we could get our hands on. The top is book matched leopard wood, Leopard wood is very difficult to work with, do to a very high sap content, it can clog up sand paper, and takes extra time, and skill, to get it ready for finishing. The leopard wood top is bordered with purple hart wood. The front, back, and sides are African Mahogany, They were cut so the grain wraps around the box. The lining of this humidor will be 3/8 of an inch thick! Spanish cedar of coarse!
