Well Alright, Yeggy. I had a ball at our gig at Jake 's Ales last weekend. The groves were good and the jams got where I want to go. I love to play rhythm guitar behind the right guitarist. Motown and I have been playing for 14 years together in one band or another. I can repeat a pattern get the grove, he melodies then if I put just a bit of variation, say add a 6 or change voicing of 7 th chord. I push him somewhere else, he reacts to it. I end up playing harmonies with him. His solo becomes our solo. Then Hollywood gets into it on bass, Kevin knocks up the rhythm a notch and the four of us push it around, milk it for all it's worth… Then we calm down together, I step up to the mike, and it's back to the R and B that everyone recognizes. I love to sing the songs, gives me a chill….but it's just total magic when 4 guys who have the craft down create something new, never heard before, emotional as hell, musix….
Only a few generations ago you had to be within earshot of a living musician to experience music. We cultivate that kind of unique live music. We like to remind you that music was really special before there was recorded music.
