Descendants of Thomas Pennington

Notes

Rebecca (Suspect) Pair

Source of information for this family PP-9, #2 pg.21.

Note! Rebecca's birthdate would probable be abt 1717 rather than 1727.
The 1717 date would have made her 7 years old when Faithy was born.

The two volumes "Heritage of Randolph County" have only two references to
Penningtons, and here they are:

Reuben Mitchell (1753-1826) m. Apr 2, 1781 Ann Pennington, daughter of
Benjamin Pennington and Lucy (Bailey) Pennington. Moved to Chatham Co.,
NC, in 1788. A few generations of descendants also listed.

Edward Beeson (1757-) m. 2nd Ann Pennington.

p.s. I'm not sure if these are Group 6 or not. Although, our group does
have Randolph Co., NC ties.

16. Thomas (Problem) Pennington

I FEAR WE HAVE ASSIGNED THIS THOMAS TO THE WRONG FAMILY. (Jim Lantz)
Other sites (Unconfirmed, nor Verified) show his father to be Moses.

One of my projects on the back burner is to determine the parents of David (1736)

I have him as the son of Thomas Pennington (B.abt 1716 and Martha Pair).

This can not be, this Thomas is shown as a son of Edward Pennington (1688) and Tabitha.
This Thomas can not be a son of Edward.
Edward's will makes no mention of a son Thomas.
This Thomas is shown as being born in 1716 and having a death date of 1762.
He would only have been 11 years old at the time of the will. Much too young to have done something to cause him to be dis-owned.

Edward's son John married Mary Pair.
Another Pair girl (Rebecca) married a Thomas Pennington. This Thomas Pennington was a son of Thomas, brother of Edward, and was assigned executor of the will of William Pair, the father of all three of the girls.

The will of William Pair can be found in Will Book A, Sussex Co., VA., page 67. It is also published in PP2-3, pg 3.

T

Martha (Suspect) Pair

Note! Martha's birthdate would probable be abt 1719 rather than 1729.
The 1719 date would have made her 7 years old when David was born.
