Why Study the Word of God?

The believer in Jesus Christ is mandated to "grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. " 2 Peter 3:18. The only means to this growth is consistent study of the Word of God under the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit. Therefore, nothing is more important to the life of the believer in Jesus Christ than the systematic study of God's Word. Though these lessons cannot take the place of attending your local church to learn from your pastor-teacher, it is my hope that these studies may lead to further spiritual growth and provide motivation to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Word about Jim and these Lessons:

These lessons are presented by Pastor Jim Oliver, who graduated from Western Baptist Seminary and was ordained by Berachah Church in Houston, Texas. These began as written manuscripts from lessons presented at Teleios Bible Church. Jim is constantly adding to the content of these messages as well as adding new ones. These lessons are presented as PDF

files and HTML documents. Certain lessons are also presented as PowerPoint documents which can be viewed with PowerPoint 2002 and later as well as with PowerPoint Viewer. The viewer is downloadable from Microsoft without charge. Some HTML lessons include the legend: "Web Page, Filtered." They are formatted to be incorporated into Logos Bible Software's Personal Book Publisher for your research convenience. All written lessons are updated periodically as indicated by the dates following the manuscript name.
