40-Middleton Street - This beautifully restored
home of Historic Rutledge Hill belonged to the Johnson Family
in the 1960's and even housed the "Model Beauty Shop." Many
Howard School teens got their first perm at this location. The
original house was constructed around the late 1880's and had an
impressive stained glass window in front. The home contained
leather wainscot on the walls, polished wood banisters inlaid
with copper, ceiling-hung
