40-Middleton Street - This beautifully restored home of Historic Rutledge Hill  belonged to the Johnson Family in the 1960's and even housed the "Model Beauty Shop." Many Howard School teens got their first perm at this location. The original house was constructed around the late 1880's and had an impressive stained glass window in front.  The home contained leather wainscot on the walls,  polished wood banisters inlaid with copper,  ceiling-hung
"tiffany" lamps, and expensive parquet flooring. The main rooms were all connected with sliding pocket doors.                  You may click your mouse on the front door to look at the restored interior of this beautiful home.
