Sorrow

There's a big black bird beating his wings Standing still in the air Is it the wind he's fighting against Or is something else holding him there? Some unseen force, just out of reach That cannot be felt or be heard Some aspect of nature that cannot be known Cannot be named with a word And a man I know, so just and so fair Never steps out of his bounds Just like that bird that's stopped in the air He screams without making a sound And late at night, alone in his bed He wonders what's passed him by Was it the truth he's been fed all these years Did he just swallow the lie Chorus Carry my sorrow away with the night Drop it down some empty well Push in my dreams and cover the hole Never my story to tell I hold so tight to anger that grows With every new pain that I see Some day I'll find the perfect response So far it's hiding from me I watch and wait with half opened eyes Look for a crack in the wall Amidst the rising houses of cards Some day those houses will fall! Chorus
