Found a marriage record for Steven G. Barker (sibling of Boon): 19 Sep 1896 in Clark Co, MO to Carrie May Kelly. Steven is listed as "from Matamores, Mexico". Marriages for what appears to be two of his brothers are also listed. Thanks to Jim Margerum for sending me this (and lots of other information I'm still sorting through) from his recent visit to Salt Lake City.

Found a copy of the book "Beyond the Mexican Sierras" by Dillon Wallace (published 1910) at the Seattle Public Library. Mentioned on the acknowledgment page is Mr. Boon Barker (among others). Boon Barker is the station agent in Tepehuanes, Mexico. Also mentioned are Mrs. Barker and three children, the oldest a boy of seven (these would be Howard, Dorothy Frances, and William Boone). All three children appear in photographs (between page 252 and 253). The two older children are mentioned by name, Florence and Howard, on page 262. I assume Florence is Dorothy Frances, but this is the first time I've seen the name Florence used for her.

Found Francis M. and Virginia Barker in the 1900 US Census living at 1108 S. High Street in Kirksville, Adair Co, MO. Virginia is listed as the mother of 11 children with 9 now living (I've only found 10 of the 11 and I don't know which one of the 10 had died by 1900). Living with them are three single daughters, Nannie age 26, Mary H. age 24, and Ray age 20 (same birth date as shown in the 1880 census for Ida L.), one married daughter, Rose Combs age 30, and her son Edson W. age 2.

Stephen Barker was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War. He enlisted 02 May 1778 at Poughkeepsie NY and served as a private for 5 years. He applied for a veteran's pension 09 Sep 1818 at Fleming Co KY, giving his occupation as "schoolmaster". His wife, Betsey, applied for a widow's pension 17 Nov 1853. She appears in the 1860 federal census (24 Jul), age 79 and blind, living with William L. Massey (a nephew?) near Crittendon, Grant Co, KY.
