NBC's Misguided Priorities
Today an important event happened with regard to the polygamist Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS) group who live in Colorado City, Arizona and Hildale, Utah. Their leader, Warren Jeffs, was arrested. This could have big consequences. For example, the unit, without their leader, could fall apart. Or if they are that religiously brainwashed by Jeffs, they could rally behind their leader, try to free him from jail or prison, and cause a much bigger incident. There's been another event that happened long ago, and in my opinion except for the community in which she lived, has become a non-event. This is the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey. The Jeffs story impacts about 1,000-1,500 people. The Ramsey story affects about 10 people.
So which did NBC put priority on? The Ramsey case. To me this is a misguided priority. They gave a huge 5-minute story on the Ramsey case and only about 30 seconds to Jeffs, and the Ramsey story came before the Jeffs story. After this, the only reason why I will watch NBC is because ABC is blatty - there is something wrong with our local station.
I call upon NBC to put the Ramsey case on the back burner where it belongs and keep it there until a really credible murder suspect shows up. I also call upon them to watch this Jeffs/FLDS story closely. Some important events could happen with this group.

If you think that the NBC coverage was bad, I was stuck in a car dealership's waiting room for a few hours yesterday and was forced to watch literally hours of coverage of the Jeffs' arrest and to sickening details of the cult's policies.
