Kevin Lee (Head of Table) of Members 1st Federal Credit Union lead discussion of financial counseling at Hope Station. This class was a cooperation of Maranatha, Members 1st, the United Way and Hope Station to promote financial literacy. Sarah Freund (L.) Dickinson College class of 2009 interning at Hope Station helps Kathy Miller set up computer donated to her by this United Way member agency. Kathy plans on using computer doing volunteer work for United Way Member Project Share Carlisle High School Interact Club did a great job in helping Hope Station prepare for it's upcoming sale of scarecrows at the Harvest of the Arts Festival by making over 30 scarecrows.

Recently United Way member agency "Hope Station" took a field trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. This was the conclusion of there summer fun/education program other phases of program were Carlisle Park & Rec summer camp, Carlisle Art & Learning Art camp held at Hope Station, and Cyberspace computer camps. Laura Baer(R) and Cindy Kelso (L) of Embarq. For the third straight year Embarq has donated school supplies to be given to the students in the Hope Station Area. Hope Station is an United Way Member Agency in Carlisle. Supplies are give by the employee of Embarq. Bonnie Divelbiss of Citizens Bank donated 35 fully supply backpacks to United Way Agency Hope Station as part of Citizens Bank "Tools for School" program. These backpacks will be given to students in the Hope Station area. Joe Beck of Sovereign Bank present to Jim Washington Jr Executive Director of United Way Member Agency "Hope Station" a check for $2500.00 to help offset the cost of Hope Station's Youth Community outreach programs. These programs include Club Scout Pack 149, Girl Scout Troop 562, The Kids Café, Easter Egg Hunt, the annual Juneteenth Celebration and the Kids Holiday Party. This contribution help's to ensure Hope Station focus on youth development which will make the kids proud to grow up in the Hope Station Neighborhood Area. The kids try there hand at sidewalk art during CALC Art Camp at Hope Station United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County's Youth Intervention Panel recently toured Hope Station. Al Matthews try his hand at a craft during National Night Out Congressman Todd Platts recently drop in to Hope Station during a visit to Carlisle hosted by the Cumberland County Redevelopment Authority. The congressman likes to check up on the kid's activities. Middle Eastern students, who are at Dickinson College for a U.S. State Department sponsored program, Middle East Partnership Initiative Study of the U.S. Institute for undergraduate student leaders Recently visited cyberspace as part of there tour of the Hope station Area pictured is Mauricia Newson ([on right] Cyberspace user and Hope station resident) giving brief to students on what cyberspace has done to improve the quality of life in Hope Station College bound students from the Hope Station Area were recently given free laptops thanks to the combined efforts of the Capital City Computer Project, Hope Station, and Cyberspace. Capital City Computer Project provided the laptops, Hope Station will purchase hard drives for then with funds from the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County, and Al Matthews Director of Cyberspace (who headed up this project) will install the hard drives into laptop. Walkers are signing up for Hope Station at recent Highmark Blueshield's Walk for a Healthy Community held at Harrisburg's City Island. Hope station was one of the 15 local non profit to participate in this event. Jim Washington Jr. of United Way member agency HOPE STATION recently received a donation from the Boiling Springs Lion Club. Jim spoke at a club meeting, Annetti Tingle the club Treasurer presents the check to Jim. United Way member agency Hope Station recently received seven gas ranges from the Central Pa Food Bank (as part of the Whirlpool Donation program) which it is a member of. Hope Station give the ranges to Carlisle Opportunity Homes Inc(COH) which has low income rental units within the Hope Station area.
