Services and Rates

  • Technical Support via email:
    • $20.00 (US) per question
    • This plan covers questions such as :
      • "Is there a way to ..."
      • "How does this command work?"
      • "What command can I use to ..."
      • "Why is it doing this ...?"
      • "How do I make it do ....?"
      • "The tab order on the dialog is incorrect. Can you fix it?"
    • I can offer suggestions about how to perform specific tasks, what commands to use, and so on.
    • Email questions any time.
    • I will answer within 1 business day
    • Additional charge of $5.00 per call if I must call or FAX you long distance.
    • This support plan does not cover writing code for you.
    • If you request that I write code for you, the charge is $50.00 per hour (1 hour minimum)

  • New Macro or Merge File Creation:
    • * $50.00 - $75.00 per hour plus expenses (minimum 1 hour)
    • Expenses include postage, toll calls, faxes, or travel expenses.
    • 50% payment in advance is required for jobs estimated over 2 hours
    • Macros in WP versions 8 and above
    • Merge form files
    • Templates

  • Macro, Merge and Document Repair:
    • I'll diagnose, and if possible, fix macros, merges, and documents that aren't working properly.
    • * $50.00 - $75.00 per hour plus expenses (Minimum 1 hour. This includes the initial diagnosis.)
    • Expenses include postage, toll calls, faxes, or travel expenses.
    • Estimate given when practical and possible
    • If macro can't be fixed, I'll let you know as soon as possible to minimize the charges.
    • 50% payment in advance is required for jobs estimated over 2 hours

  • File and Macro Conversions:
    • * $50.00 - $75.00 per hour plus expenses (minimum 1 hour)
    • Any WP version to any other WP version (5.1 and above)
    • ASCII fixed field or delimited database files to WP merge data file format
    • Data File Manipulation (reorder fields, add fields, remove duplicates, etc.)
    • If you are not sure which macros you need converted, you may send them all to me. However, you WILL be billed for time spent determining which macros you need converted.

  • Testing and Documentation
    • * $50.00 - $75.00 per hour plus expenses (minimum 1 hour)
    • Documentation for your macro systems
      • WinHelp
      • HTML Help
      • Printed documentation
    • Testing of your macro systems

  • What I DON'T do
    • I DON'T create complex templates or styles.
    • I DON'T create outlines or outline styles.
    • I DON'T design forms or documents. If you need a macro that fills in a particular form, you must provide the form.
    • I DON'T provide graphics or graphic design. If you need a macro that inserts or manipulates graphics, you must provide the graphic and the graphic design specifications.

  • You may be asked to ...
    • Provide sample data files - please remove sensitive data, but the file structure should be similar to your normal data files
    • Provide sample documents - again, please remove sensitive data, but leave the structure
    • Provide information on your processing and workflow - often I can save you steps if I know the whole process
