My Daddy wrote this journal on the trip he and my Mommy made to Russia to get me. He tried his best to keep track of what they did and what they saw on their trip. |

We packed the car after getting up at about 7:30 AM.
We were up late making suitcase inventory lists and doing some final packing.
We dropped
Kodi
at the kennel at 11:30 and then went to Mom and Dad's for lunch with the Moms.
Then the Moms took us to the airport. The plane ended up being a 50 seat Canadair CL65 jet not a prop, as we were told. Our carry-ons did have to be put under the plane and not in the plane with us, but the backpacks could be carried on. Our Moms cried when we walked out on the tarmac. In New York we met several other couples who were adopting and using Frank Foundation (FF). None of them were going to the Rostov region, however. We flew on a Boeing 767. About ½ of the passengers were Russian and ½ were American. The food was pretty good. The 2 diet Cokes I had were very different: one was from Sweden and one was from Moscow. It was strange to leave on Monday and land on Tuesday. |
