Paul is 10 and finishing 5th grade. He is a fan of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lego (esp. Bionicle). For fun, he likes to hang out with his best friend, ride his bike or scooter, make awesome paper airplanes, and play Game Boy or computer games. He also enjoys renting videos or DVDs and watching them till he has the dialogue memorized.

The school subject he likes best (besides art, gym, recess, and lunch, of course) is math, and he is a whiz at it. An avid reader of almanacs and other similar reference books, Paul says he will read fiction... but only if the author is J.K. Rowling! Paul is also interested in the Middle Ages: ask him about his dinner at Medieval Times, or about his favorite movie, First Knight. [Hey; I only report 'em... -- Ed.]

A newly-minted graduate of Cub Scouting, Paul went out in the proverbial blaze of glory with a victory at his last Pinewood Derby. Meanwhile, he has taken up a new hobby, karate, and has just earned his yellow belt. Other athletic interests include soccer (neighborhood pick-up games, though he's now making noises about trying to play on a rec. council team) and swimming in the summer.

Like the rest of the family, Paul's a musician, and his teachers say he's a good one. He has been taking flute lessons for almost three years now, and the wonderful world of middle school band is just on the horizon. He is, appropriately, a Sousa fan, and he also says he enjoys celtic music.
