Dowling gets big credit for taking it out with the leaders.
He did rig worse than Verran (who didn't rig at all), but it didn't matter in the contest for first white guy, since he had a 3 minute advantage
Verran charged hard at the end, but it was coming off of a 6728 first half, which is actually what I advised him to do, still a 215 at Boston doesn't suck.
Maybe next marathon, he can take more of a chance.
Oddly enough, Clint ran from 40K on in in 6:46 - not only faster than any of the other Americans, but faster than race winner Rogers Rop.
Coogan ran fairly evenly, rigging, but not rigging too much, at the end for a rather routine 217. 
He probably could have done better, but he wouldn't have finished in the money (top 15) regardless.
