Just thought that I would give my two-cents' worth about the hiking that I have done so far.  Hardly objective, only opinion.

 

Best View
Osceola, Whiteface, (Mt. Hight-not one of the 48), and particularly, the North Presidential Ridge (Gulfside Trail)
 
Most "Interesting" Hike
Whiteface-Rock/Ledge climbing, hardwood forest
 
Most Exciting Hike
Presidential Ridge (North, from Washington to Adams)
 
Least Exciting Hike
East Osceola, Galehead
 
Steepest Descent
Carter Dome to Carter Hut, South Twin to Galehead Hut, Owl's Head slide
 
Most Exaggerated Difficulty
Wildcat (A)
 
No Views
East Osceola, Middle and South Carter, Galehead (small outlook), Owl's Head (except for slide)
 
Most "Trouble" Hike
Descent from Little Haystack on Falling Waters Trail - knee problems!
 
Most Important Gear (beyond the obvious-boots, pack, etc.)
Trekking poles, wicker shirts
 
"Little Things Mean A Lot" Section
Nylon shorts, Platypus water system, Terry cloth headband, Gaiters
