I wanted to see if I could improve the original BoB clouds, as I felt that they were a bit too "busy" (see below). The pictures below will show some different variations.
Original Clouds

Small Grey Clouds--(possible increase in FPS due to very small file size) I also noticed a distracting "band" or cloud layer edge when running in 16 bit and near horizon (see below)...
...so I modified the file to remove those clouds all together. Click the picture (or here) to download the NO high level cloud mod (if you run in 16 bit near horizon, it's your decision...the layer edge, or no high level clouds. BTW, the 3d clouds will still work even if you use the "no high level cloud" mod).
The following files have been reported to improve fps and/or reduce stutter when flying with clouds enabled. Test2 *should* be better, but does have some slight anomalies. Some of the mods you'll find on my pages will be found in BDG artmodpacks. However, other "user preferred" mods need to be added individually.

Someone once wanted an improved sun. Isn't the sun basically a white sphere? Not sure if this is an improvement or not...
Multicloud V4 Multicloud V5 (must also use cloud*.x8's from Multicloud V4 above). Simply use the Multicloud V5 bins instead. Intended to improve fps and reduce stutter at the expense of detail.
A slightly modified terrain by Dowding and myself ( new towns and forests)
Winter white terrain...Maybe not realistic, but fun as a change of scenery.
New runway texture Please email me with any issues with these or any mods posted on my site. There have been many additions, and corrections for compatibility with the BDG V96 and artwork mod. I hope I updated everything necessary. |
