Celaya, Ortiz, Rico, & Ruiz Genealogy

     I can only answer questions about my main lines of Rico and Celaya.  A special thanks to Josie Villegas of Orange Cove, CA and Emma Yorba. 1.  Aurora Rebecca "Becky" RICO was born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co, CA.  She married John Ray MOORE on 18 Apr 1968 at Las Vegas, Nevada.  Children are Sarah and Laura. 

 PARENTS 
 2. Miguel Navarro RICO was born on 24 Aug 1901 at San Jose De Pima, Sonora, Mexico.  He was buried in Dec 1975 at the Smith Cemetery, Dinuba, CA.  He died on 18 Dec 1975 at Fresno, Fresno Co, CA. He was married to Maria Hortensia "Tencha" CELAYA on 01 Aug 1937 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co, CA. 
 3. Maria Hortensia "Tencha" CELAYA was born on 27 Jan 1908 at Atil, Sonora, Mexico.  In 1910 Tencha's family moved to California from Tucson, AZ in a covered wagon.  She was buried in Feb 1985 in the Smith Cemetery in Dinuba, CA.  She died on 21 Feb 1985 at Visalia, CA. Children are Martina, Rebecca, Mike, and Jesse.

GRANDPARENTS 
4.   Miguel RICO was born in 1869 at San Jose, Mexico.  He died in 1931. He was buried in South Phoenix, AZ.  He was married to Martina NAVARRO.
5.   Martina NAVARRO was born in 1876 at San Miguel, Mexico.  She died in 1954.  She is buried in Exeter, California. Children are Miguel, David, Concha, Irene, Margaret, Mercedes, Ramon, Francisco, & Delores.|
6.  Jose Maria CELAYA (II) was born in 1865 in the Altar district, Sonora, Mexico.  He is buried in California.   He was married to Paula ORTIZ. 
7.   Paula ORTIZ was born on 15 Jan 1870 at Anahiem, Orange Co, CA.  She died in 1934.  She is buried in the Bu Yorba Cemetery at Anaheim, Orange Co, CA.  Children are Enrique, Maria Hortensia, Jose Maria (III), Roberto, Margaret, Rueben, unknown twin to Rueben, & Teofelo.

GREAT-GRANDPARENTS
12.  Jose Maria Romero CELAYA was born in abt. 1847 in Altar district, Sonora, Mexico.  He was married to Carmen "Carmelita" VALENCIA de Celaya. Children are Jose Maria and an unknown brother.
13.  Carmen "Carmelita" VALENCIA de Celaya.
14.  Jose Maria ORTIZ  was born in 1841 in Oquito, Sonora, Mexico.  He was married to Carmen RUIZ.
15.  Carmen RUIZ was born  on 25 Mar 1855.  She died at Oquitoa, Sonora, Mexico.

2nd GREAT-GRANDPARENTS
24. Crisanto CELAYA was born in 1810 in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico and died abt. 1880 in Florence, AZ.  He was married in 1844 at Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico to:
25. Francisca Carillo ROMERO born 1824 in San Lorenzo, Sonora, Mexico and died 1910 in Tempe, AZ.  Children are Espetacion, Jose Jesus, Jose Maria, Refugia, Manuel, Antonio, Jesusita, Ana, Dolores, Pedro, & Maria.
28.  Jose Maria Ortiz  was born in 1808 in CA.  He was maried to Carmen Grijalva.

30.  Jose Antonio RUIZ was born in 1816 at San Juan Capistrano, CA.  He was maried to Maria Francisco CANED'O on 2 Sep 1838.

48. Fidelis SELAYA  was born before 1790 in Altar, Sonora, Mexico.  He married:

56.  Gerardo Ortiz  was born in 1764 in Mexico.  He was maried to Ana Maria Caballero.

60.  Jose Joaquin RUIZ was born on 29 January 1794 at Santa Barbara, CA.  He was christened on 29 Jan 1794 at Mission Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA.  He died on 18 Feb 1858 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co, CA.  He was married to Quirina Maria Antonio YBARRA on 9 Jan 1814 at Mission San Gabriel, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co, CA.
61.  Quirina Maria Antonio YBARRA was born on 3 Jun 1794 at San Diego, California.  She was christened on 8 Jun 1794 at Mission San Diego, CA.  She died on 20 Jun 1852 at San Juan Capistrano, CA.
62.  Jose Maria CANEDA was married to Georgonia Josefa Maria ESPINOSA on 8 Sep 1811.

96.  Salvador SELAYA was born before 1750. He married:
97. Remugio de SELAYA was born before 1750. Known child is Fidelis.
114.  Gerardo Ortiz Cortez del Rey.  He was married to Maria Nicolasa Corella.
115. Maria Nicolasa Corella.  She was born in 1725 in Mexico.
120.  Efigeno RUIZ was born about 1745 at El Fuerte, Sonora, Mexico.  His occupation was as a Soldado de Cuera. He did on 13 Jun 1795 at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Co, CA.  He was married in 1769 to Rose Maria LOPEZ at Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.
121.   Rose Maria LOPEZ was born in 1753 at Alamos, Sonora, Mexico.  She died on 23 Sep 1828 at Mission San Gabriel, CA.
122.  Juan Antonio YBARRA was born at Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.  He married Maria de los Angeles VALESQUEZ in 1778.
123.  Maria  de los Angeles VALESQUEZ was born in Mazatlan.
124.  Juan Maria CANEDA was born at Villa de Culiacan, Mexico.  He died 19 Oct 1850 at San Juan Capistrano, CA.  He was married to Joana SALAZAR.
125.  Joana SALAZAR was born at Villa de Culiacan, Mexico.
