LOVENAPS ART

“Art That Starts A Conversation”

Hi There- Thanks for taking an interest in my work. My name is Barbara Lovell Napoli. Currently I live, paint and raise a family in beautiful Monmouth county, New Jersey. I am a self-taught artist, working primarily in acrylics, watercolor, ink and pencil. My "style" runs the gamut from photo realism to the stuff that only dreams are made of... I tend to get bored easily and will finish up a portrait only to turn around and paint a highly stylized bit of "magic!"

I like to think that my work can elicit emotion, start a conversation (as in“what was she thinking!?”) or at the very least provoke a smile… Whimsy is important to me, and I like to incorporate into my painting any number of magical moments that live in my imagination. On the other hand, I am also captivated by photo-realism and a more representational style. Recreating everyday objects and moments in such a way as to elevate them from the mundane to nearly sacred intrigues me, such as simple things seen from an odd angle, extreme close ups or out-of-the-ordinary assemblages. I am especially fond of forcing fantasy and realism to collide, as seen in my still life paintings with a “twist.” I like my viewers to ponder the possibilities of incorporating a little fantasy into everyday life and to think, “Well- it might happen!” I have always been captivated by dichotomy.

My work currently hangs in both public and private collections throughout the United States. I sell locally through several boutiques and galleries (contact me for locations) and online. Thanks to the Internet’s ability to make the world smaller, I have recently begun selling overseas. The web is a wonderful thing, and I am gratified to say that I’ve been able to create some meaningful friendships with clients because of it. Wonderful for the exposure it provides is Ebay- where for the last two plus years I have been and continue to list and sell prints, mini art and occasional original paintings.

I am available for commissioned pieces, including still life, portrait, pen sketches and flights of fancy. Those interested can contact me at the number/email address below. You can see more of my work and information on pricing by looking through this site, and yet more art can be viewed by doing a search for Barbara Lovell Napoli in the juried artist’s section of www.ebsqart.com.

I thank you for taking an interest in my work. It is an incredible joy to be recognized for an endeavor that adds so much to my life. The hours fly by when I have a paintbrush in my hand, and suddenly I’ll surface to realize that I’m late for “real life!” Thanks for supporting my imaginative one!

Here is what some of my recent customers have to say about Lovenaps Art:

“Your paintings are really fantastic and I can hardly wait to get this

one up on my wall…”

“Realism to the nth degree...this painting is one of my all-time favorites!”

“The portrait of my daughter Gabrielle made me cry when I saw it!! It captures her personality so completely...I love it so much and will treasure it always!!!”

“Picked up the beautiful painting at the P.O. yesterday.  Lovely.  The packaging was very secure so your creation arrived in perfect condition.  The painting is hanging in my powder room on an ochre-colored wall.  Very stunning.  It may, however, need to move somewhere more prominent from time to time.  I, too, am an artist (artist-blacksmith).  I'm telling you this because I think it is important and gratifying, as an artist, to know when other artists appreciate our work.  You've got a real talent for capturing a certain type of stillness (as evidenced, particularly, in Farmhouse Sink and Martini Pitcher).”

“You have so beautifully captured the essence of my children at the tender ages of 8, 4 and 6 months. Your painting is even more precious to me as those children are now adults. Thank you for the bit of time travel I do everyday when I glance at the portrait.”

“Thank you so much for the wonderful picture of our house. You truly captured our home and how much we love it. I am addicted, ca’nt wait for my next original by you!!”

“OH. MY. GOD. BETTER than your scanned pic. LOVE this piece. THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

“Service and delivery EXCELLENT. Barbara Napoli's work is beautiful and joyous.”

“Thank you for the beautiful artwork! I'm thrilled. Wonderful working with you!”

“This was a wedding gift - the couple loved the painting - thank you!!!”

“Beautiful- I may own the canvas-but long for the one tenth of the artist talent.”

“I love how you mix realism with fantasy. There is a humor in your work yet with the technical proficiency one could never say it wasn't the work of a serious fine artist. You know how to work a composition and have a touch all your own that is evident in each piece. Awesome.”

“This past summer I discovered the art of Barbara Lovell Napoli, and I´ve been following her work ever since. I now own three of her paintings and I just had to relate how incredibly original and varied each one is. The detail is painstaking and the richness of the colors is amazing. I constantly receive comments from visitors about the uniqueness of the subject matter…“

“This is my fourth piece by Barbara and it's as good as the rest...outstanding!

“I recieved my print yesterday and couldn't possibly love it more.”

“Your talent for capturing children in everyday life situations is truly impressive!”

“The painting of my "Angel Baby" is perfect. You captured his beautiful face and serene spirit in a way that truly will last forever! I can’t thank you enough for not only the portrait, but for your compassion and the loving eye you clearly had while painting my beautiful son.”

“Hi barbara-I just love your paintings!! Will keep an eye on your web site for any new frogs that may come

along. If you notify people of new listings, please put me on the list. Thanks”

“…I opened the package and before my eyes was a most beautiful depiction of my children. Barbara Lovell-Napoli captured my children exactly as they look. From the smile and the cowlick in my oldest daughter’s hair to the seriousness in the face of my younger. Barbara´s talent allowed her to capture my children so naturally.

“Thanks for the opportunity to buy your painting.  I bought it for a friend who is expecting.  I think it is beautiful.  I loved the black and white sketch (at least that is what it looked like) of the baby being held in someone's arms as well.  I would love to be on your email list.  Thanks again.”
