How it all began

South Rim This is where it all started. Standing at the South Rim in the summer of 1997, looking down at the Colorado River as it wound its way through the canyon, we wondered what it would be like to truly "experience" the Grand Canyon from a very different perspective. And so the idea blossomed and became a reality...
...with the assistance of Joe Nadeau, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Education and Science and professor of geology at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Joe is a veteran rafter with more than 25 years of experience in rafting the Colorado, so we looked to him for guidance. Basically he said, "This is how it works--you get a group of family and/or friends together, contact me, and I'll make all the arrangements." And that's exactly what he did! Joe Nadeau
