Captain PHILIP LAWHORN is a man’s man. When Champlain Transportation Inc. informs him a woman has been hired to work on his ship as stewardess, he’s anything but pleased. Winds of Change is a story of hope and endurance.

Abigail, a soft-spoken woman was attracted to Stanley, the pilot of the Ticonderoga. However, keeping in line with her quiet personality, she found it difficult to express her feelings toward Stanley. It didn't seem like she'd have the opportunity either, because after the wedding, she would be heading back to New York where her parents lived. But, providence stepped in when Ellie and Philip married. Mr. Trembley hired her as a temporary stewardess while the newly weds took an extended honeymoon to the visit the shore points in New Jersey.

Stanley feel head over heals in love with Abigail the moment he saw her in a photograph. Those feelings grew deeper and stronger each day that he spent near her. What was to happen once Philip and Ellie returned? Would he have the time to declare his love for her or would she return home and out of his life forever?

Then, just before the Captain returns, Abigail began to feel ill. Each day was a little more strenuous than the previous. It was hard to catch her breath and she felt just as tired when she woke up as before she went to bed. A horrible cough set in to the point where she there was spots of blood on her handkerchief. Something was seriously wrong. Unsure of what was happening she went to see a physician as soon as Ellie returned. The diagnosis scared not only her, but everyone who loved her. It was the dreaded Tuberculosis. However, it is this very illness that brings about a beautiful love of a lifetime as Abigail holds Romans 12:12 close to her heart.

Paradox:

Premise: Lilly Holland’s passion is flowers-not people. She hates her family run ski lodge,

dealing with the staff and all the unwanted publicity that goes with it. All she’s ever dreamed of was a nice quiet, peaceful life surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. The exact opposite of what life is like at the touristy Holland Lodge in the small town of Paradox.

When her sister is arrested, Lilly is called to fill in as director of their family lodge. Not only is this something she’s uninterested in, it’s also something for which she has neither adeptness for nor the desire to learn. Her communication skills are little to nil and her administration skills, if at all possible, are even worse than that. So, why does she feel like God is nudging her to go? He, if anyone, should know better than ask this of her. No doubt, she’d wreck everything her family has worked so hard to build up over the course of the last 68 years.

Ric Walker, the lodge’s grounds keeper, seems to be Lilly’s only link to sanity. His steady presence and strong faith encourages her through this trying situation. However, that sanity is threatened as she realizes her feelings for him are changing into something more, something deeper. It is then that Lilly learns Paradox is more than a town’s name. It’s where God has led her—a divine place in the matters of the heart—where God reveals His power, brings healing, and love, just when she thinks all hope was gone.
