Shops Are For Sissies
I know that many projects have never gotten off the ground because the truck owner did not have an adequate shop to house the project. I have spoken with folks that have rented shop space, borrowed a neighbor's shop, or God forbid, built one of their own. This is a genuine waste of good money. Everyone that I have met that were worth a darn, worked on their truck in the driveway, or better yet, under a big shade tree. I particularly enjoy working on my truck while parked in the small field behind my rural house. You certainly may lose a few small parts when they fall to the ground, but the dirt absorbs oil and water very nicely.

The driveway has its own unique set of advantages. The hard concrete doesn't absorb oil, in fact it is easily stained by dirty oil. But, each oil stain tells me a story.  To me, the stains on the driveway are like the tic marks we make on our kitchen door each year as the kids grow up. Every mark brings back memories .... "Hey look, there's were I parked that day when the rear seal went out on the way back from the bluegrass festival...Hey!! and there's where I parked..."
