offers quality, historically accurate firearms built on a custom
order basis. Our riflesmith, Jim Bailey, has been involved in
muzzleloading for nearly 30 years and built his first flintlock
rifle in 1980. He and his wife Mary purchased a tract of land
near Fuquay-Varina, NC in 1983, founded the Lafayette Longrifles
and along with the club members built a range which has been home
for the club ever since.
Jim's career has centered around
the construction business, but hopes that in a few years to be
able to devote his full efforts to muzzleloading and the Eastern
Colonial Trading Company. If you want historically correct, first
class muzzleloaders, get in touch with Jim. Better yet, stop by
the store, drink his coffee for free and personally discuss with
him the type of rifle, smoothbore, or pistol you desire. Jim is
a member of the Lafayette Longrifles, the NC State Muzzleloading
Rifle Association, and the Contemporary Longrifle Association.
