The '88 H/O Project
The plan is to install the below kit on the '88 Cutlass Supreme Classic that I bought from Rob Vazzana.
This is one of the very few "new" '88 H/O kits in existence. I am very stoked. Big thanks to Terry Shanks as he was gracious enough to hold it for me since 1988!!
Below are a few pics of the car on which the kit will go.

I have installed an NOS set of Lightning Rods (from Angelo Valenti) and put on the billet knobs (from Tony Williamson) |

This is my 455 in the machine shop being worked for approx. 530HP and 600lb.-ft. of torque. It is a roller cammed street/strip semi-badass. Full floating wrist pins. Here are some pics from the morning of June 25th:
The 455 is done! See below for preliminary pics:
The frame has been painted and is ready to accept the new suspension components (sorry for the bad quality, it's dark out):
Here are pics of the 8.5" rear from an '87 442 that I got from Mark Davis in Ft. Lauderdale. I finished blasting it and covering it with POR-15.
Here is the front suspension:
and the completed chassis:
Check out how well these headers were designed as the stock shift linkage to the column bowl works perfectly:

And they said it was a "bolt-in" HA! |
I am doing EFI on the 455 and I am pulling the engine to get it done.
I am doing the car in '68 H/O colors as a true 20 year tribute to the original. Below is a link to some great '68 H/O pics shamelessly stolen from eBay. I also included pics of Vinny's since his is so niiiiicce...
Below are scans of the pics that came with the press kit:

I am doing the above 455 transplant like the one that Doc Watson built for Joe Hrudka back in '88 (but with more power, roller cam has advantages!!). Linda Vaughn had also been seen driving one like it (307, though). I won't do the interior changes that they did as my dark blue interior is very nice (plus, I now have Lightning Rods!!).
I am going to use Gary Willard's awesome billet Olds SSIII's in 17"x8". They are gonna look sharp!
