what's hot, what's o-vah!
where it all started
I started in 1976, collecting music and learning how to be a DJ. Thanks to people like Fred Kulstad, Dana Andrews and a many others, I had a lot of great mentors here in Seattle. Now 32 years later, I'm still having a ball and have out lasted everyone else.
visit.me
The Cuff Complex is where you can find me, every Sunday for their Tea Dance. We designed this day to start off for the first few hours with classic disco from the 70's, but with a loose format. This means, if you have a request from the 80's, no problem. Love disco but also want to hear early B-52's? No problem.
But that's not all, the fun really heats up between 8 and 9 PM when we slide into the newer dance hits of today. Think KNHC style, uptempo and sweaty! The fun continues until midnight.! However we are usually there until 1 AM or longer, it's just that much fun! Don't believe me? Well as Mae West used to say, "Why don't you come up sometime and see me?" The Cuff Complex is located at 1533 13th Ave on Capitol Hill. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe and fun dance environment for our customers.
got.requests?
We try to fulfill most requests, as long as they are within our format. You can always email me at dj.john.england@gmail.com if there is something you would like to hear and would like for me to bring in. My latest requests have been (on the disco side) Taka Boom and Manhattan transfer. On the newer music side, people are loving Jennifer Hudson's "Spotlight," Georgie Porgie's "Can You Feel That Sound" and Natasha Bedingfield's "Angel (Chicane Club Mix)."
