Quote of the day:
My son Alex was singing his own version of the "If you're happy and know it..." song. His version began "If you're happy and you know it, pick your nose. If you're happy and you know it, pick your nose...".

I guess you just can't beat a good nose picking...

Although I have not run this on any code yet, this looks like it could be a very useful tool to help evaluate .Net code/design.

Man, I guess the Marlins' fans want to have their cake and eat it too. I guess winning a world championship doesn't get you very far these days.

OK, OK all you Dead Sox fans. The Yankees are off to a horrendous start but I'm not panicked (too much) yet. Once we start hitting then things will pick up. I am definately "hung over" after getting swept by Boston at NY over the weekend. But I am still wearing my colors with pride!!! Go Yanks!

Currently in the CD player is The Who's Then & Now 1964-2004. This is a(nother) greatest hits album from the band except that it does have two brand new songs. I have to admit as The Who never release Hooligans on CD, it is a good equivalent. Anyone wanting just to get the greatest hits and wants an introduction to The Who would be wise to buy this album. I am one of a minority that actually turns their car and/or home stereo's up to their maximum and this was one album that stayed on "10" the whole time! I guess I need one that that goes to "11" now!

Currently playing is Jack Johnson's Brushfire Fairytales. I can still remember the first time I listened to this album. I brought it home and the kids were up taking a nap so I put in my laptop's CD player, plugged in my headphones and cranked it up. I had heard two or three songs off of the album but was amazed that the album was packed start to finish. After listening to it, I promptly restarted it and turned it up a little more. I think that I must have listed to it 8-10 times over the next 72 hours. An awesome album that everyone should have in their collection.

As a side note, the kids like this album as well, especially the "Da da" song (AKA Bubble Toes). You will understand their name for the song if you listen to it.

Don't go blaming the babies and accusing them of not having the skills, blame the parents for not using a little common sense and baby proofing their homes. Any qualified parent should know you to block of your stairs when you put a child in a baby walker.

Last month we had all 3 of our bathrooms (mostly) remodeled. Although we are happy with the end results, we are not happy with the company that did the work, Midwest Construction. They told lies to us up front about things that would or would not happen during the remodeling, took too long, communicated poorly, insulted me and my wife and tried to cheat us out of some work. So, if you haven't picked up on it yet, we will definitely not recommend them to anybody else. We had our kitchen remodeled last spring by Dun-Rite who did a fantastic job and would get a full endorsement from us any time!

Although the pictures are not that great (you really lose the colors), I thought I would share pictures of all the work that we had done.

Well, as I just swapped out all of the CD's in my SUV, I realized that although half of my blog name is dedicated to music, I have not had a single post about R&R yet. Well, the CD currently playing is Maroon 5's first and only album Songs About Jane. I can remember the exact day that I fell in love with this band. Suzanne and I went to a Counting Crows and John Mayer concert and the warm-up band was Maroon 5. I recognized one of the songs, Harder to Breathe, but enjoyed every song I heard. The band finds it's roots in R&B. Actually, the slogan for my favorite band, The Who, is Maximum R&B. Although the two bands have very different sounds, like the Who, Maroon 5 definately gets the most R&B in every song. Even during the "slow" songs you find yourself beating on the steering wheel and tapping your foot on the floor. I would also make a strong comparison between Maroon 5 and Stevie Wonder from a pure sound alike stand point.

Suzanne just bought the new Eric Clapton album, Me & Mr Johnson which she is in love with. She has promised to let me take it to work on Monday so I will give an unbiased review, sorry sweetie!, later next week...

OK, I might be able to understand somebody not liking the NY Yankess, but how can you not love baseball when you have a rivalry like this one!?!?

Ahhh, finally! Although the calendar said spring started back on the 20th, it officially started yesterday for me. Baseball has started (with the New York Yankees playing the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in Tokyo on Tuesday and Wednesday), the weather is turning warm, and I had my first moutain bike ride of the year! Top that off with the fact that daylight savings kicks in this weekend and that adds up to lots of warm weather outdoor fun!

My ride yesterday was a good typical first ride of the year. A couple weeks ago before my Guerilla .Net training, I cleaned up the bike, replaced the brake pads, and had the wheels trued. So the bike was ready. I went to Waterton Canyon as it starts off as pretty flat and easy to do. To ride up to the dam and back is almost 12.5 miles. I was amazed by the amount of construction building going on there. This was the last undeveloped canyon along the front range and unfortunately they have started development there. There were new power and/or phone lines running along the river and along with what appeared to be a new (construction) frontage road. The ride was mostly uneventful. I was definately racing against daylight, although the orange tinted sunglasses helped to brighten it up, but made it just in time. I did see several deer having a late dinner just as I completed my ride. All in all, is was a good ride. Although we need to precipitation, I don't look forward to the storm and cooler weather expected on Friday and Saturday. C'est a vie!
