 New Look
I got bored of the old look and feel of the blog after almost 9 months so I've made some changes. I can't say that I'm done but it is far enough along that I'm comfortable making the change now. Let me know if there is anything you don't like and I will consider changing it. Time to brave the elements and heading to Target to get some necessary evils and maybe even some x-mas shopping. Happy Sunday!

 Duct Tape Can Fix Everything
A few weeks back my son got new shoes and developed a blister on his big toe for some reason. Anyways, a couple of weeks later I was helping him get his socks on and discovered it had turned much worse. I did not notice this sooner because he normally gets dressed by himself. We took him to the doctor the next day and the doctor said it was a Planters (?) wart and there were four different options for treating it.
  • Do nothing and it would go away in 2-4 years
  • Have it frozen and then removed but that can be expensive and painful
  • Use an over the counter medication every day and the wart should be gone in 3-4 months
  • Put duct tape on it and change it every week for a few weeks

The last option I had read about recently and the doctor indicated that new studies show this as an effective treatment. As we did not want this to last forever, cost much, or hurt our son, we decided for the duct tape option. I'm pleased to report after just one week of duct tape on the wart it is now gone! Who would've thunk?

 Ready for Winter
Fall started off with a bang. We began with our trip to San Diego and then I followed it with my first ever trip to Moab. However, things have just been going down hill since then.

  1. The New York Yankees lost the ALCS to their dreaded rivals, the Boston Dead Sux. Not only did they lose to the Sox, they were the first ever team to choke after being up three games to zero and lose 4 straight. They were even just 3 outs away in game four from winning.

  2. Not only did the Yankees lose to Boston, but Boston swept the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals and finally broke the Babe's curse.

  3. The Broncos lose two straight games to inferior teams. They are now tied for first in the AFC West but there are too many questions and concerns about the team. I don't think this will be the year they win their first playoff game since God's (John Elway) retirement from Pro Football.

  4. George Bush wins reelection for another 4 years of misery.

  5. The Republicans not only maintain their majority in congress, it actually increases.

  6. Despite best intentions, my work has not signed any significant contracts. Hopefully my job is still secure. We still have a big one waiting but it has been hold for too long!

Time to hibernate.
