 Tom, Dick, and Harry
Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox on winning the 2005 World Series. Apparently any Tom, Dick or Harry can win it now. Last year, the Boston Dead Sux won their first series since trading the great Bambino, and now the Chi Sox get their first series vicotry since 1917. What's next, are the Chicago Cubs going to win the series? It was pretty amazing that the Houston Astros were playing the Sox as they are a team that has NEVER won a World Series. Maybe there is hope for the Rockies afterall? I doubt it, at least not as long as the current management is still running the club.

 Money Man
Brian Cashman, the Yankees GM looks to remain with the team for at least three more years. He has been offered five million to hang around for another three years. I guess all those experts that were saying that Cashman and Joe Torre wouldn't be around for another year are eating some crow about now. I think the Yankees had to renew Cashman's contract; with a name like that who else would be better at spending Steinbrenner's money?

 Sports Hangover
Wow, it was a fun and busy weekend. On Friday night, the kids both had sleep overs at friends houses so we went to the Colorado Avalanche game. My poor wife had awful hockey withdraw last year during the strike so we were trying to remedy that situation. The game was pretty good. Both goalies did an outstanding job in net and the game was tied at the end of regulation and the four on four overtime period so it went down to a shoot out. The Avs didn't have their regular goalie, David Aebisher as he had to sit the bench due to poor play as of late. Instead, Peter Budaj, a rookie, played. Budaj got smoked in the shootout but that shouldn't take away from his amazing performance the rest of the night.

Saturday AM, we got up and moving early as we were going to the Air Force football game against UNLV. We took the kids as well as Suzanne's parents as it was a belated b-day gift for my father-in-law. It was an amazingly beautiful Colorado fall day. Air Force kicked butt 42-7 and the kids had a blast. They got to see a fly-by, the Falcon mascot, Ronald McDonald, and the real falcons flying around during half time. They also started doing pushups with the cadets after every score.

Sunday, I met my friend Brian Miller and we went and watch the Broncos dominate the Patriots!

If you see me today and I'm doing the wave or something, just strap me into a chair and put me in front of ESPN and I should come around soon.
