Birds in the Backyard

I have several bird feeders in my yard, and I spend a lot of
time watching my feathered visitors. I have begun keeping
a list of the species that I observe. Roger Tory Peterson's
"Field Guide to Eastern Birds" is helpful when identifying
some of the less familiar species. I put up a hummingbird
feeder recently, which seems to have attracted a large
family of at least four Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds.
