I am almost totally unavailable on the weekends during ski season as I
like to waste my money on numerous trips to the ski resorts outside of
the Denver/Boulder area. Last ski season, though, I was fortunate enough to
take advantage of the season pass war that occurred here in Colorado
between Copper Mountain, Winter Park/Mary Jane, and the Vail resorts.
I picked up a Winter Park/Mary Jane season pass for $200! In April,
I picked up next year's Winter Park/Mary Jane season pass for $225!
That's two years of skiing for $425!
I have enjoyed snow skiing since 1987. Although I enjoy skiing in many conditions, I am happiest in the big bumps. My favorite resort is Mary Jane which is part of Winter Park Resort. My favorite west coast resorts are Mammoth and Kirkwood. Visit RSN for some daily images from some resorts around the US. And, during the winter, check out the Weather Channel Skier's Forecast. It is updated quite frequently and has information on just about every ski resort.
I began playing roller hockey in the early Spring of 1994 and I have
been wasting nearly all of my free time since then on the sport.
I used to play on the top of Parking Structures on UCLA but
I have since given up street hockey in favor of indoor inline leagues
and ice hockey leagues.I used to play with a team called BW-3 at the Bladium rink in Denver. That team has been doing well in the last few seasons; we won two championships in three seasons!
The Bladium is a really nice inline hockey facility with two rinks. If you are interested in inline hockey in the Denver area, I highly recommend checking it out.
About 3 years ago, I pretty much gave up inline hockey in favor of ice hockey. My primary ice hockey team, The Pack, has been playing since the Summer of 1998. We started out in the Bronze league, which subsequently broke up into the Bronze A and the Bronze B. We skated in the Bronze A for a few seasons. This season, we moved up to the Silver B league. We were worried that we were going to get our @$$es handed to us, but so far this season we are not doing too badly. Check out The Pack pages for more information about our team.
Please send me some mail if you are interested in getting involved in competitive league hockey in the Denver/Boulder area. I know that when I first moved to Boulder, it took me a while to work my way into the hockey scene here.
Little did I know that kayaking is insane! I can't believe what I have gotten myself into.
Last year, I bought Nancy and myself a pair of Dagger RPMs as a graduation gift for Nancy. It's a pretty aggressive boat for me, but it is a lot of fun. We typically kayak on the Poudre River up in Fort Collins on the weekends during the summer. It's a great river with plenty of paddle-able sections. The sections represent a wide variety of skill levels.
