Daniel Conrad

(Jan 1, 1876) Death of Daniel B. Conrad. On Monday last, Daniel B. Conrad, of Eden township, died suddenly of heart disease. He was in his usual health at noon, having eaten a hearty meal, and afterwards went out to a piece of timber land, accompanied by his hired man and son-in-law, intending to show them where he wished them to work. He had gone but a short distance when he sank down and called for help, and told them to return and bring the buggy, which was done. He got into the buggy unassisted and was taken toward home, but as they arrived near the house he expired. He was upwards of 80 years of age, and a highly respected citizen.

His funeral took place this afternoon at 10 o'clock at the German Reformed Church. The services were conducted by the Revs. Good and Rust, and largely attended.

Caroline Conrad

(The Tiffin Advertiser Tribune, August 28, 1933) Mrs. Caroline (Snyder) Conrad native of Eden township, died Saturday evening in her home in Fostoria at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Conrad was the widow of Nathan Conrad who was born south of Tiffin. Before her marriage she resided near the site of Lake Mohawk.

Mrs. Conrad is survived by two brothers, Edward J. Snyder, of Ada, and Judge John B. Snyder of Atlanta, Ga.; and by four sons Edward, of Cleveland; Ira, of Texas; and Will and Alva, of North Baltimore. Mrs A. D. Harshman of this city is a niece.

Funeral services will be held in Fostoria Tuesday, at 3 p.m. and interment will be in that city.

William O. Conrad

(Sept. 29, 1956) FINDLAY, 0., Sept. 29-William 0. Conrad, 81, a retired Ohio Oil Co. employee, died in a Toledo hospital yesterday following a 5-month illness. A native of Wood County, he had lived here since 1945. Surviving are daughters, Mrs Oliver Harris, North Baltimore and Mrs. William Hubbard, Toledo; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and brother, Alva Conrad, Findlay He was a 50-year member of the North Baltimore Masonic lodge and a member of the North Baltimore EUB Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Trautman Mortuary. the Rev. Fred Esterly officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery.

Edward N, Conrad

(May 28, 1950) Edward N. Conrad, 79 a retired attorney, who had practiced law in Cleveland and Tiffin, died today 12:45 a.m. in the Kollmeier Convalescent Home, Findlay Death was attributed to the infirmities of age.

Mr. Conrad was born near Tiffin, January 12, 1871, to Nathan and Caroline Conrad. His wife, the former Josephine Green, Fostoria, was killed in an automobile accident 19 months ago.

Surviving are two brothers William 0. and Alva S Conrad both of Findlay and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Harrold Home Funeral Home Monday, 2 p.m. Burial will be made in Fountain cemetery friends may call at the the funeral home.

Ira Conrad

(Nov. 5, 1946) Ira Conrad. 72. - a native of Bloomdale, died Tuesday in the Soldiers and Sailors Home Sandusky, following a two weeks illness. Mr. Conrad had been a resident of Toledo for several years. He served in Company H, 2nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, during the Spanish-American War, and was a member of General Poland Camp, United Spanish War Veterans funeral services will be held in North Baltimore Friday, November 8, 2 p.m. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery at 3:30 p m where a firing squad from Col. W. 0. Bulger Post 421, Veterans of Foreign Wars will provide military honors.

Nathan B. Conrad


(March 28, 1907) Nathan B. Conrad, a veteran of the Civil war and retired farmer, died at his home in Fostoria, Thursday, March 28, 1907, aged about seventy-seven years. His death was due to a stroke of paralysis. The deceased was born in Berks county, Pa. and when seventeen years of age moved to Tiffin and at the outbreak of the Civil war enlisted in the 123rd regiment, O. V. I. In 1868 he was married to Miss Caroline Snyder, of this city, and moved to a farm near Tiffin, later moving to a farm in Henry county, where he lived for a time and then again moved upon a farm near Bloomdale. A few years ago he moved to Fostoria. He is survived by four sons and two sisters, Mrs. William Maule and Mrs. John McElheny, of Tiffin. The funeral will be held, Saturday afternoon, at two o'clock, at the Methodist Episcopal church, in Fostoria, under the auspices of Norris Post, G A. R.

Alva S. Conrad

(April 23, 1960) Alva S. Conrad, 78 of 307 Walnut Street, Findlay, died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday in Blanchard Valley Hospital. He had been ill three months.

Born Aug. 15, 1881 in Napoleon, he was the son of Nathan and Caroline (Snyder) Conrad. In 1903 he married Bertha Savial. He moved to Hancock County in 1943.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Glada) Housley, Fostoria; Mrs. Francis (Anna Ruth) Barger, Findlay; a son, Harold E., of McComb; and eight grandchildren. His wife and three brothers, Edward, William and Ira are deceased.

He was a member of the Howard Methodist Church, Modern Woodmen of America, and Bloom Township Grange.

Services will be held in the Coldren Funeral Home at Findlay at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, North Baltimore. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.

Bertha Savial Conrad

(June 23, 1948) Mrs. Bertha Conrad, 63, wife of Alva Conrad, 116 S. West street, Findlay, and mother of Mrs. Harvey Housley, 809 W. North street, Fostoria died of carcinoma Wednesday, 3:15 p. m. in Findlay hospital. She had been in failing health for the past five years and had been bedfast for five weeks.

Born January 27, 1885, she was the daughter of John and Mary Savial. She was married to Alva Conrad on October 28, 1903 and moved to Findlay from Wood county January, 1943.

In addition to her husband, and her daughter in Fostoria, Mrs. Conrad is survived by another daughter, Mrs.Francis Barger; Findlay; a son, Harold, McComb; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Lyon, Mrs. J. E. Webb, Mrs. William McGarvey. and Mrs. Alph Miller, of Findlay; two brothers, William Savial, McCutchenville, and Harry Savial, Bloomdale; and seven grandchildren, including Anna M. Housley, Fostoria, a student nurse in Toledo, and Jack Housley, Fostoria. Mrs Conrad was a member of the Howard Methodist church, Findlay and of the Bloom grange m Wood county.

Services will be held Saturday, 2 30 p m., from the Perry Miles Funeral Home in Findlay with the Rev. Raymond K. Beals officiating. Burial will be in Weaver cemetery. The body was taken to the family residence this afternoon and will be returned to the funeral home Saturday morning.

Edwin Conrad


(Review-Times, April 10, 1987) Former Fostorian Edwin Earl Conrad, 70 of Kissimmee, Fla. died Thursday at 9:30 at his residence. He was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Seneca County to Earl B. and Laura (Houx) Conrad. He married Mary Wade and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Gloria J. Reinhart and Mrs. Jack Needles, both of Fostoria; a son, Carl Edwin of Sanford, Fla.; a sister Marjorie Butzier of Kansas; and three grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Brooklyn Conrad; and a sister, Ruth Evelyn Conrad.

Mr. Conrad retired in 1976 from the C&O Railroad, Fostoria, after 37 years of service. He lived in the Fostoria area and moved to Florida after retirement. There will be no services as the body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
