To all to whom shall see these presents, Greetings: Whereas, On the 9th day of January A.D. 1901 Thomas Housley did purchase of and from the County of Carroll in the State of Missouri, the folllowing described Real Estate, situated in the County of Douglas and the State of Missouri, towit:
The south east Quarter (1/4) of the North West Quarter (1/4) of Section No. 17 of Township No. 27, of Range No. 12. containing (40) acres, more or lessat and for the price of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, being a part of the lands known and designated as "Swamp Land", and which was patented by the State of Missouri to the County of Carroll on the 5th day of December A.D. 1877, and whereas, it appeared to the satisfaction of the County Court of Carroll County, that on the 8th day of April A.D. 1913 Thomas Housley made full payment for said land in the sum of Seventy-Five ($75.00) Dollars and cents to said Carroll County. Now, in consideration of the premises and in conformity with the provisions of the law, the County of Carroll hath given and granted, and by these presents doth give and grant unto the said Thomas Housley and his heirs, the land above described: To have and to hold the said tract, with the appurtenances, unto the said Thomas Housley and to his heirs and assigns, forever.
In testimony Whereof, I, J.B. Stanley Presiding Judge of the County Court of Carroll County, have caused these letters to be made Patent, have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the seal of the County Court of Carroll County, this 8th day of April A.D. 1913.
