Welcome to John's Ceramic 'Optics' Page. 

I did a few pinhole cameras in grad school at Utah State University.  These are all soda fired with copper work.

I'm putting this page up quick, just for that current thread on Clay Art about cameras, so sorry about the poor images.



The big studio camera-

It fits a 4x5 paper negative.

Here is the same camera with it's lid open and the film holder out.




I call this one "Brownie"-

This fits paper negatives about the size of a 3x5 card.


Here's my "Pocket Camera"-

It takes paper negatives about the size of a nickle...which actually turn out quite good images.



Just in case you were wondering if I ever tried glass lenses...


telescope

This is my refracting telescope. It is about 15" fully extended. Yup, it really works.  The focusing slider is out of copper with an oak eyepiece holding the lens.
