and Little Big Band
both feature the fabulous vocal talent of
Paula Johns and play the
swinging jazz sounds of the Big Band era, performing compositions that
people of all ages have come to enjoy. These classic songs were made
famous by Glenn Miller, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Harry
James, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson as
well arrangements by more contemporary arrangers. The bands have been
performing concerts, dances and weddings to crowds large and small in
the New Jersey/Philadelphia/Delaware areas since the early 80's.
The Big Band is comprised of 10-17
pieces and the Little Big Band is comprised of 6-9 pieces. Both band plays all the
same great jazz and swing standards but the smaller band allows us to
perform in venues where a normal big band is either too large or too
costly. Don’t worry though about the smaller size of the Little Big
Band, the music for that band is written in such a way as to get a nice
full sound. Both bands can easily play both concert and danceable
material depending on the requirements of the venue.
The leader, John Clark, spent more
than a year on the road traveling throughout the US and Canada playing
over 300 dances and concerts with the New Glenn Miller Orchestra and has
since been playing throughout the area with several local bands.
Both bands are comprised of leading
professional musicians from the Atlantic City/Philadelphia areas so you
can be assured of the best quality music for your event. These musicians
have worked and toured with some of the greatest talent in the world
including: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Rosemary
Clooney, The Four Freshmen and many, many others.
