This Homepage is dedicated to the art of John Faherty.John is a painter of narrative images. Religious icons and illuminations from many cultural perspectives influence heavily his use of imagery. The work also shows strong influences of the modern as well as primitive and naive artists. This melding of Ideas has created in the hands of this artist a visual language that is unique. John lives and works in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is emerging as one of the most dynamic art communities in the country John is currently a member of the Zone One artists cooperative in the Olde City gallery district.In May of 1996 John had a one-person show at Zone One entitled "Painted Narratives" of which some examples are included within this site .He is currently doing work for his upcoming one-person exhibit scheduled for June 1998.
